Research and Development

In the long term, CEFOP hopes to contribute to the Chilean effort to migrate to a knowledge-based economy. Normally, in this context, the needs of the productive sector must be met by the multidisciplinary research and scientific development. The development of collaborative research capabilities locate the Center in a unique position to contribute to this national effort.

In this sense, to formalize and improve our capabilities in technology transfer, it’s has been created a Technology Development Division, responsible for integrating applied research into the needs of the Chilean economic groups. In particular, management will establish links with the productive sector by promoting collaboration between CEFOP and public and private companies by identifying specific problems. We hope that the unique blend of collaborative research in fundamental and applied topics, and an active link with the productive sector leads to an effective technology transfer program.
