Experimental activities
Laboratory activities will be presented to all students. Those activities will be in direct relationship with the topics covered by the courses with a sense of general knowledge in Optical Tweezers and Biophotonics.
Additionally, a reduced number of students will actively participate in a single and specific experiment guided by the responsible professor. The selection proccess will be realized according to particular interest, poster evaluation and/or specific request.
Experimental Proposed Themes:
- Correlation of photonic substructures at the microscale.
Outline: “Orbital angular momentum and polarization states transferred from a laser beam to microscopic birefringent particles”
Responsible professor: Dr. Halina Rubinsztein and Dr. Carlos Saavedra.
- Spurious drift method.
Outline: “Influence of Noise on Force Measurements”
Reponsible professors: Dr. Giovanni Volpe, Dr. J. P. Staforelli and Lic. Pablo Solano.
- Defocusing Microscopy.
Outline: “Cellular membrane analysis by contrast defocusing and correlation techniques”
Responsible Profesor: Dr. Oscar Mesquita and Lic. Sebastián Etcheverry.
