Call for postdoctoral position

Dr. Jeronimo Maze, seeks applicants interested in working in the experimental area of quantum optics and condensed matter. In particular, the research study defects in solids. According to Dr. Maze, Professor of the Physics Department at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and sponsor researcher of the project: “we have recently shown that these defects are able to detect the spin of individual electrons and nuclei with a spatial resolution unprecedented (JR Maze et al. Nature 455, 644 (2008)). These defects use fundamental properties of quantum mechanics to achieve high magnetic sensitivity and can detect the magnetic field emanating from manometric structures at room temperature. In addition to its metrology, these defects, and the exploration of new defects in solids, could have a major impact on quantum computing and other disciplines such as biology”.

Those interested should contact as soon as possible, to [email protected] or [email protected].
